Connections to Work
JFS SV offers a range of vocational training including career counseling and English language training programs to assist recently arrived refugees, immigrants, and members of the local Jewish community in finding jobs with local employers.
We provide:
- Skills assessment to identify your strengths
- Job referrals to match you to employers who can use your skills
- Resumé writing and interview preparation to put your best foot forward
- On-line job search to give you access to Silicon Valley employers
- Vocational ESL classes and support

Helping Refugee Clients Find Jobs
JFS SV is always on the lookout for job openings for our resettlement clients. These people are often highly qualified, and are applying for their first jobs in the U.S. They don’t have extensive experience in our the U.S. job market. Others are seeking entry level jobs to restart their lives in their new country. Their English skills vary, but most have enough English skills to interview and follow instructions.
JFS SV’s refugee clients have given much and worked hard to come to the United States. They are here to succeed, and want to become fully integrated into American society and give back to their new home. To become self-sufficient, they need to find jobs commensurate with their experience.
JFS SV refugee clients are eligible to bring their employer Work Opportunity Tax credits and Federal Job Tax Credits up to $2500 for each hired individual. These clients are looking for entry-level through advanced positions.
