"Knitzvah a Mitzvah" with PJ Library
Tuesday, January 31, 2012
3:45pm - 4:45pm
At Levy Family Campus
Designed for children 4-7 years old, this program brings together PJ Library participants and Knitzvah volunteers from JFS for an afternoon of knitting crafts on behalf of needy children in the San José community.
PJ Library kids and parents will learn about the wonderful volunteer group, Knitzvah, and their projects to help
children, newborns and seniors.
Then, each child will make two yarn crafts, one to take home and one to donate to Knitzvah for children in our community.
Have fun and do a good deed at the same time. Enjoy story time, songs and snack!
Participants are asked to consider bringing a new or gently used child's backpack to donate to a Children's Shelter.

Shabbat Dinner Program
New Collaboration with Jerusalem Grill and Bar
to provide Glatt kosher meals
Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley is now collaborating with Jerusalem Grill and Bar in Campbell, to provide Glatt kosher (and delicious!) Shabbat meals for needy members of our community.
Caring café diners have become involved, too, sponsoring meals for families, as well as for seniors who appreciate a kosher, cooked meal. JFS SV volunteers deliver the meals when a family isn't able to pick them up from the café.
JFS is now accepting donations for this program: $38 will feed a family of 4; or provide 2 sets of meals for a senior couple.
Interested donors can mail contributions marked "Shabbat Dinner Program" to JFS SV, or drop them off at the JFS SV office on the second floor of the Levy Family Campus.
