Dear Treasured Community Partners,
We greatly appreciate your strong support in partnering and publicizing our Equipped to Learn Back-To-School Drive. Thanks to you and the generosity of your membership, our student are ready for the new school year.
We exceeded our goals – our learners of all ages have new backpacks, school supplies, tablets and gift cards to buy clothes and shoes. Many donors generously donated on our Target gift registry and others brought in their donations and were greeted by our friendly volunteers. It was a true hybrid community engagement event and our community came together.
One single mom told us: Thank you so very much for such a beautiful backpack, filled with school supplies, a gift card, and other additional gifts for my daughter! You truly enlightened her week and the beginning of this coming new school year!
Our refugee services team shared a story about a young high school student who is physically disabled and has a beautiful attitude. She is attending school in the USA for the first time and these donations enabled her to start the new school year with the school supplies and technology to help her succeed and fit in with her classmates. Another young man from a family who arrived a few years back received the needed supplies to start his classes at San Jose State University. This was all made possible from your strong support of this vital program.
With Deep Appreciation,
Manager of Community and Volunteer Engagement
