Dear Friends & Supporters,
This was a year that tested our community. And once again, our community showed up.
Needs across Silicon Valley grew heavier and more urgent, and JFS Silicon Valley stepped in with compassion, excellence, and a simple belief: no one should face hardship alone.
JFS serves our community through six pillars: Aging Services, Behavioral Health, Adults & Families, Homecare, Immigrants & Newcomers, and Volunteers. This past year, we stopped treating them as six separate programs and began weaving them into one living ecosystem of care.
Here is why that matters. No one arrives at our door with just one need. An ecosystem of care means we see the whole person and look beyond the immediate need to understand what else may be affecting a person’s stability, health and well-being. Then, we bring the right resources and services together to help people move forward.
Nowhere does this matter more than in our work with older adults. Their needs are rising just as outside services grow scarcer and harder to reach. Through the Rick and Doris Davis Center for Aging and Caregiver Services, we bring care management, homecare, and caregiver support together under one roof, providing a single place families can turn for guidance and support with confidence.
None of this caring is possible without a strong foundation behind it. This year, we made sustainability a core value, and we built and refined our programs with intention. The result: stronger programs, more consistent outcomes, and an organization built to keep showing up for our community for years to come.
We also welcomed five new members to our board whose experience deepens our judgment and sharpens our direction, including a new generation of leaders who bring fresh energy and a lasting commitment to this community's future.
One important change lies ahead. In November 2026, JFS will leave our Los Gatos home on University Avenue for a new location in South San Jose, as our current building makes way for high-density housing. Our new home will be easier for many clients to reach and will help us continue delivering the compassionate, responsive services our community depends on.
This has also been a year of resolve. Many of our refugee resettlement contracts come to an end in September 2026, but our commitment to newcomers remains unchanged. Through vocational support, ESL classes, and skill-building, we help immigrants move beyond resettlement toward lasting self-sufficiency and a firm foundation for the future.
Through every change this year, one thing never wavered: our commitment to this community. Thank you for standing beside us through a year of growth and hard, intentional change. The work we do is only possible because YOU make it possible
