A Year of Courage, Compassion, and Impact
This year tested our resolve and strengthened our purpose. Guided by our Jewish values, Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley (JFS) faced challenges that could have slowed us down. Instead, they became catalysts for growth, helping us close the year with a record $16.1 million in revenue. Through the dedication of our team and the support of our community, we exceeded expectations, expanded our impact and emerged stronger than ever.
We also renewed our mission and vision statements to reflect who we are today and the evolving needs of our community. These statements affirm our commitment to meeting people where they are, helping them navigate life’s challenges with dignity and support.
When the World Said Stop, We Chose to Care Early in the year, a federal stop work order abruptly ended funding for refugee services. Families fleeing unimaginable persecution were suddenly left without a lifeline. JFS refused to turn away.
We pivoted immediately, continuing to serve immigrants, who are former refugees, with case management, ESL classes, employment support, and essential resources. In a world where humanitarianism feels fragile, we leaned in, providing connection, care and critical resources.

Even as the need grew, JFS delivered over 30 programs across our community, including:
CalAIM Services
We launched CalAIM services to provide enhanced care management and community supports for Medi-Cal participants, supporting our most vulnerable neighbors.
Homecare for Older Adults & Caregivers
Our officially launched homecare program is meeting long-unmet needs, helping caregivers and older adults remain safe, supported, and independent at home.
Mental Health Support/Building Connections Groups
Our in-house mental health services are providing safe spaces for people to heal and be seen.
Aging & Caregiver Services
Through the Rick and Doris Davis Center, we provided transportation, food access, and personalized care for our growing older adult population.
Food & Basic Needs
The Berkowitz Kosher Food Assistance Program and wrap-around case management ensure that vulnerable households have culturally appropriate food and essential resources.
Rusnak Jewish Care & Connections
JFS is keeping Holocaust survivors and Jewish older adults connected to their traditions, culture, and community through accessible Shabbat services, transportation, social programming and holiday events.
