A Family Tradition with Impact

Volunteering is one of the simplest ways families can spend meaningful time together while making a positive impact in their community. JFS Silicon Valley supporter Bonnie and her granddaughter, Zoey, have turned that idea into an annual tradition.

Every summer, they volunteer with JFS Silicon Valley with our back-to-school programs. In years past, they shopped for backpacks and school supplies through Equipped to Learn. This year, they embraced our new Eat to Learn program by shopping for and packing healthy snacks for local students.

Their story is a wonderful example of intergenerational volunteering and the many ways families can give back together. Whether it's grandparents and grandchildren, parents and children, siblings, or extended family members, volunteering creates opportunities to build lasting memories while passing along the values of kindness, generosity, and caring for others.

As Eat to Learn continues throughout the school year, we hope more families will consider volunteering together. Every act of service strengthens our community and inspires the next generation to make helping others part of their own story.
