Dear Friends,

Since I joined JFS Silicon Valley, I’m always struck by how being with our donors, volunteers, and staff feels like a big, warm hug. It’s the same feeling that drew me to JFS Silicon Valley almost six years ago, and it still energizes me every day. That “hug” reflects how we care for people, by meeting real needs and recognizing that supporting the whole person means addressing all the interconnected parts of their lives.

An illness may begin with home care but quickly affect housing, safety, and connection.

JFS offers professional home care services, care management, housing support, and social programming.

An immigrant family might start with learning English to find work, but they also need legal help and school supplies for their children.

JFS offers vocational ESL classes and mentoring, legal immigration services, and on-site pantry services for family needs, such as back-to-school supplies, clothing, and bikes for children.

Older adults may start by needing transportation, but soon also need care management, health support, and connection to stay safe and engaged.

JFS, in partnership with “On the Go,” provides transportation to medical appointments and social and religious events. Our Rick and Doris Davis Home Care support includes a range of in-home care services, and through our “Friendly Visitors" program, older adults gain companionship and connection.

Life events like job loss, housing instability, the death of a loved one, and the anxiety of current events can take a toll on mental health.

JFS offers individual and group therapy, case management support to co-create plans to help with basic needs like covering utility bills or accessing transportation, and an on-site pantry for emergency food and essential-needs assistance.

This is what makes JFS so special. We offer wraparound services that help people address the multiple issues they may face through a single integrated service model. In these complicated times, that level of support matters more than ever.

Our thanks to this incredible community. Your generosity and care are what make it possible for us to surround so many with the support and services we offer.
