The impact of JFS Silicon Valley, told through the stories of the people we serve.

Reliable transportation plays an important role in helping people maintain their health, independence, and quality of life. It provides access to medical appointments, religious services, community programs, and social activities that keep people engaged.

That's why On the Go is an important part of JFS Silicon Valley's services for older adults and adults with disabilities. Through partnerships with transportation providers and volunteer drivers, the program helps remove transportation barriers so people can continue living active, fulfilling lives.

For Mindy C., the program arrived when she needed it most. After a medical diagnosis temporarily made it impossible for her to drive, transportation costs quickly became overwhelming. Between frequent medical appointments, running her business, volunteering, and maintaining her fitness routine, transportation became one of her biggest challenges.

"On The Go has been a lifesaver... Without this service, I would have had to give up much of what matters most to me. Instead, I've maintained my independence, responsibilities, and sense of purpose during a very difficult transition."

Pearl C. shared a different experience.

"The program enables me to come to the monthly lunches at the Los Gatos JCC without depending on others. I get to socialize, meet new people, enjoy a nutritious kosher meal, and participate in cultural activities. Since I don't drive, I'll also be able to use my second ride for other important appointments."

If you or someone you know could benefit from On the Go, or if you'd like to help make it possible for someone to get to a medical appointment, religious service, or meaningful community activity, we'd love to hear from you.
